For CFOs and finance teams
Get the workarounds out of your finance team's week.
SeamSet builds what your NetSuite account is missing for finance. Your team describes the need in plain words and gets a first version in minutes. Each change is tested and goes live once your NetSuite admin approves.
A normal week in many finance teams:
The close, with the month-by-month trial balance rebuilt in Excel.
Overdue invoices chased from a spreadsheet, one email at a time.
The weekly report exported from a saved search, stale by the meeting.
A journal import rejected as out of balance, and nobody can see why.
Vendor bills approved by email, then keyed in.
Your NetSuite account can do more than anyone has had time to set up.
Much of this already has a home in NetSuite. The trial balance report can show one column per month. A saved search can email its results every Monday. Vendor bills can go through an approval workflow. Each takes time to set up and test; that time goes to the close.
Native first, with pragmatism. If a native feature covers the need, SeamSet sets it up (a saved search, a workflow, an approval rule), through the same approval, and writes no code. If the native route would cost more to set up and run than the need is worth, SeamSet says so and proposes the lighter option. Account features stay your admin's switch. SeamSet builds only what is still missing, such as a check that shows how a journal file will be grouped into entries, and whether each entry balances, before anything loads.

What the waiting costs
Manual work never shows up as a budget line. It shows up elsewhere:
- A slower close.Figures NetSuite could produce are rebuilt in spreadsheets.
- Cash collected later. The invoices nobody got to this week are paid later.
- Decisions made on stale numbers. The report was exported last Monday.
- A team kept on workarounds, not on the analysis you hired them for.
Custom work is hard to estimate, for everyone
"A NetSuite partner scoped an EPM project at 75 hours. It ended up needing 400+."
On a small request, the cost sits around the code: the back-and-forth between spec and developer, then the wait for a slot to go live. So a report here and an approval there rarely justify a quote.
SeamSet cuts the rounds in between: whoever asked gets a first version back directly. Scoping stays: your team still decides what the report shows and who sees it. Your NetSuite partner keeps the large projects.
Who approves, and what gets logged
- Tested before it goes live. Every change is tested first.
- Your admin approves. Nothing goes live without it. Nobody approves their own request: when your admin is the one asking, a second approver they name signs off.
- A log of every change. The log records who asked, who approved, what changed and when. SeamSet keeps it, and you can export it at any time. NetSuite also logs each deployment in your account.
- Flagged before approval. Every line of a change carries a tag: Reversible, Removes stored data or Cannot be undone.
No in-house NetSuite admin? Approval goes to whoever holds that role: a controller, an IT lead, or your NetSuite partner.
By default, what SeamSet builds runs inside your NetSuite account. Outside for two reasons only: portals for people with no NetSuite login, and screens NetSuite's pages handle badly.
In plain words
Vendor bills go through an approval workflow instead of email: each bill goes to its budget owner, and to the controller above the department's limit. Adds a budget owner on departments. Removes the old free-text field "Approved by (email)" on bills. Each approver gets a morning email of the bills waiting on them.

After go-live, and before each major NetSuite release
Before each of NetSuite's two major releases a year, your admin requests a release preview account. SeamSet reruns its checks there and tells your admin what needs attention. Fixes go through the same approval.
Each change comes with its documentation.
If you stop using SeamSet, what runs inside your NetSuite account keeps running. Portals stop.
